How to Use Webmail: Subscribing to a Shared Folder

Before you can access a folder that is being shared with you, you must first subscribe to that folder as indicated below.

Note: Before you can subscribe to a shared folder, make sure the folder is being shared with you. To find out if a folder has been shared with you, click on the Shared Folders link in the Mail navigation pane. Any folder being shared with you will be displayed in the Shared Folders pane.

 

  1. Log in to Webmail (https:// gumail.georgetown.edu) with your NetID and password.
  2. Click on the My Folders link in the Mail navigation pane.

 

  1. In the Shared Folders pane, locate the folders others have shared with you in the Name column. To enable access to a shared folder, click on the box to the left of the desired folder so that a check mark appears.

 

  1. View the contents of the shared folder by doing the following:
    1. Click on the plus sign next to Shared Folders.
    2. Click on the plus sign next to user to display the list of users who have shared a folder with you.
    3. Click on the box next to the NetID of the person whose folders you want to access. You'll see a list of folders that person has shared with you. 
    4. Click on the folder name of the folder you want to access.
