How to Use Webmail: Navigation and Usage Conventions
The following are Webmail conventions for navigating through Webmail or performing certain operations :
Canceling an operation. If you click on the Cancel button, be aware that Webmail might not display a confirmation message. If this happens, you'll lose any work or settings you've entered up to that point. So be sure you want to discontinue what you're doing before you click Cancel.
Checking for new mail. Mail will not be automatically delivered to your Inbox. You must click "Check Mail" to receive new mail.
Finding out which message you've opened. Any message you currently have open will have a black arrow on the left side of that message's listing.
Opening a message in a new window. Double-clicking a message will open the message in a new window.
Displaying menus. If you click on any of the menus at the top of a folder page to display its options, you can only make the menu disappear by waiting a few moments or by clicking on another menu.
Performing an operation on a message. You must first select a message before you can perform an operation on that message. You select a message by clicking on its check box so that a check mark appears.
Selecting an e-mail message. You can select a message (i.e., for the purpose of performing an operation on that message) by clicking on the check box next to that message so that a check mark appears. You can select *every* message in a folder by clicking the check box that appears in the column heading (the topmost check box).
Completing an operation. You must click "Apply" any time you want perform an operation or change any settings so that your changes can be applied successfully.
Replying to an e-mail message. You need to double-click on any messsage to which you want to send a reply.
