Why do something twice when you only have to do it once? If you find yourself sending the same (or similar) messages over and over, then it's time to create a template or two. If only the names and dates change on your daily memo, why retype the whole body of the message every day? |

Creating a Template |

- Start Thunderbird.
|
|
- Click on the Composition button (it's located in the toolbar at the top of the screen).
- This will open the Compose: window.
|

Type the message that you want to re-use.
|

- When you're done typing your message, click on the File button.
- From the drop-down menu, click on Save As, then click on Template.

Turning a Message into a Template |

- Open a message (it can be a message someone else has sent to you).
|
|
- Click on the File button.
|
|
- From the drop-down menu, click on Save As, then click on Template.
|
|
|
This will convert the message into a template you can re-use. |

Using a Template |

When you want to use this template, find the Templates folder in your folder list and click it.

You'll see your template(s) on the right side. Double-click the one you want to use. |

- This will open your message in the Compose: window (the same window you regularly use to write e-mail messages).

Retype any information that needs to be updated, make sure the address is correct, then click on Send. |
