1. If you do not have the Thunderbird client already installed on your computer you can download it from the UIS Software Database.
Remember to save the Thunderbird 2.0.0.0 for Windows exe. file to your computer's desktop, and delete it after installation. Also, make sure to close all your other programs during installation.

2. Double-click the Thunderbird Setup file.
3. The Open-file Security Window will appear; click on the Run button.
4. This will bring up the Welcome window; click on the Next button. |

5. The Software License Agreement appears. Read the agreement, and click on I accept the terms of the License Agreement; click on the Next button. |

6. You'll be asked what type of setup you want. |

7. Close the Installation Complete window.

8. Make sure a checkmark appears beside Launch Mozilla Thunderbird now, and click Finish. |

9. You must now create a profile. Please go to Configuring Thunderbird for Use with GUMail. |

Note: If you have been using Netscape or Mozilla to read your GUMail, you'll be asked if you want to import your e-mail settings and folders into your new Thunderbird profile. | |

1. Click on the program you want to import settings from, then click on the Next button. |
|
|
2. If more than one profile has been set up for this program, you'll be asked to choose which profile you want to import (it is generally the one named with your NetID). |

3. Click on the Next button, then click on the Finish button. |
