How to use Thunderbird with GUMail: Add the Georgetown Directory
Start
Thunderbird
.
Click
on
Tools
, then
click
on
Options
.
This will open a new
Options
window.
Click
on
Composition
from the top menu.
Click
on the
Addressing
tab.
Make sure
checkmarks
appear beside
Local Address Books
and
Directory Server
.
Click
on the
Edit Directories
button.
This will open the
LDAP Directory Servers
window.
Click
on the
Add
button.
This will bring up the
Directory Server Properties
window.
Beside
Name:
,
type
Georgetown Directory
.
Beside
Hostname:
,
type
directory.georgetown.edu
Beside
Base DN
,
type
dc=georgetown,dc=edu
Click
on the
Advanced
tab.
Beside
Don't return more than
,
type
300
.
In
Search Filter
,
type
(objectclass =*)
.
Click
on the
OK
button.
Georgetown Directory
now appears in your LDAP directory server list.
Click
on the
OK
button, then
close
your
Preferences
window.
Thunderbird will now show addressees from the Georgetown directory when you compose a new e-mail message.
