- Start Thunderbird.

- Click on Tools, then click on Options.

- This will open a new Options window.

- Click on Composition from the top menu. Click on the Addressing tab.
|
|
- Make sure checkmarks appear beside Local Address Books and Directory Server.
|
|
- Click on the Edit Directories button.
|
|
- This will open the LDAP Directory Servers window. Click on the Add button.

- This will bring up the Directory Server Properties window.
|
|
- Beside Name:, type Georgetown Directory.
- Beside Hostname:, type directory.georgetown.edu
- Beside Base DN, type dc=georgetown,dc=edu

- Click on the Advanced tab.
- Beside Don't return more than, type 300.
- In Search Filter, type (objectclass =*).
- Click on the OK button.

- In the Options window, select Georgetown Directory from the Directory Server drop-down list, and then click OK.

|
- Georgetown Directory now appears in your LDAP directory server list. Click on the OK button, then close your Preferences window.

|
- Thunderbird will now show addressees from the Georgetown directory when you compose a new e-mail message.
