How to Use Thunderbird 3: Displaying Message Text Inline When Replying to the Message

2. In the Account Settings window, click on Composition & Addressing.
   
   
   
   
   
   
   
3. In the Composition & Addressing area, select the option Automatically quote the original message when replying, and then click OK.
