How to Use Thunderbird 3: Viewing Your Messages

You can view a message either from the preview pane, the same tab every time, or from a separate tab for each message you open.

Note: The message pane should be displayed by default. If it isn't displayed, you can open it by selecting View --> Layout --> Message Pane.

 

  1. In Thunderbird, go to the folder in which you want to view a message.

  2. View a message by performing either of the following:

    • To view a message in the preview pane, single-click on the message listing.





    • To view a message in a new tabbed window , you can either double-click on the message listing,




      or right-click on the message and then select Open Message in New Tab from the drop-down menu.




  3. To close the message, just click on the X icon for that tab.
