How to Use Thunderbird 3: Sending a File Attachment

Note: You can send and receive messages where the total size of the message does not exceed 15MB.

 

  1. In Thunderbird, compose a new message. (See Composing and Sending a Message for instructions on how to create a message.)

  2. To attach a file to your message, click on the Attach button located in the toolbar of the composition window.





  3. In the Attach File(s) window, perform the following:
    1. Navigate to where the file you want to attach is located.
    2. Select the file you want to attach.
    3. Click on the Open button.




The name of the file you selected will appear in the Attachments pane of the composition window, as shown in the example below. (In this example, the file "Lorem Ipsum text.doc" has been attached to the message.)




  1. Click on the Send button to send your message.
