How to Use Microsoft Outlook 2007: Running a Rule
Note: After you create a rule, Outlook 2007 will run that rule automatically (if you select the option Turn on this rule when you create the rule). However, you can run the rule manually at any time by performing the steps below.
- Select Rules and Alerts from the Tools menu.

- In the Rules and Alerts window, click on the Run Rules Now button.
- In the Run Rules Now window, perform the following:
- Select the rule you'd like to run by clicking on the box next to it so that a check mark appears. (When you select the rule, its description is displayed in the Rule Description area.)
- Select the folder in which you want to run the rule by clicking on the Browse button to search for the folder.
- Select the option Include subfolders if you want Outlook to run the rule in all the subfolders of the folder you selected.
- Choose whether you want to apply the rule to All Messges, Read messages, or Unread Messages in the folder you selected (and subfolders, if you selected that option).
- Click on the Run Now button to run the rule.

You will see the following pop-up window showing you that Outlook 2007 is running the rule.
