HOW TO USE OUTLOOK 2003 WITH GUMAIL: GETTING YOUR MAIL

  

Before you can use Outlook 2003, you must install your profile to access GUMail.

 

Opening your mailbox

  1. If Outlook 2003 is not already open, open it.
 
  1. Click on imap.georgetown.edu.
 
  1. You'll be asked for your user name and password.

 
  1. Beside User Name, type your University NetID. Beside Password, type your NetID password.

 

  1. Then click on the OK button. This will open your GUMail Inbox.
 

Note: If you want Outlook to open your GUMail Inbox each time you start, you can change your start up folder.

 
 

Reading your messages

  1. Click on a message to open it. (Unread messages will appear in bold.)

 

Single-clicking can open the message in a preview pane at the bottom of the window.

To turn on and off the preview pane, click on View, click on Reading Pane, then click on where you want the pane to appear, on the right side, or bottom of your window.

Double-clicking will open the message in a new window.

 
  1. To check for new mail after opening your Inbox, click on the button.
