HOW TO USE OUTLOOK 2003 WITH GUMAIL
Outlook is a desktop client you can use with GUMail. Desktop clients are set up to work with only one computer and allow you to check your email from that computer. They have more formatting options than web-based email and allow you to store your email locally, or on your computer?s hard drive. Outlook works on Windows machines only.
Installing Outlook 2003 Profiles: Outlook profiles can be installed and configured in several different ways. Choose one of the links below to install the profile that best suits your need. If you want to use Outlook 2003 with GU Calendar, you must create your Outlook profile by installing the Oracle Connector for Outlook software.
Outlook 2003 Profiles
- GUMail Only - This profile requires no additional software. This is the recommended profile for those who want to use Outlook 2003 with GUMail. It is also the recommended profile for those who want Outlook 2003 for their e-mail and calendar (optional), but prefer NOT to use the enterprise GUCalendar.
- GUCalendar Only - This profile requires the Oracle Connector for Outlook software. This the preferred profile for use with Blackberry handhelds. This profile is also used when the GU Calendar needs to be synchronized via Outlook with other handheld devices.
- GUCalendar PLUS GUMail - This profile requires the Oracle Connector for Outlook software. This is the recommended profile for those who want to use Outlook 2003 for both GUMail and GUCalendar. This profile can also be used when the GUCalendar needs to be synchronized via Outlook with Blackberry handhelds or other handheld devices.
