HOW TO USE MOZILLA WITH GUMAIL: USING THE SPELLCHECKER

Using the spellchecker manually

  1. Open a compose window and type your message.

 

  1. Click on the Spell button at the top of the window.
  1. If Mozilla finds any words that aren't in its dictionary, it will open a Check Spelling window.

You will have several options:

  • Replace the word with one of Mozilla's suggestions (if it has any),
  • Manually type in a replacement,
  • Ignore the possible misspelling,
  • or Add the word to Mozilla's dictionary.

Setting the spellchecker to run automatically

You can set Mozilla to automatically spellcheck every message you send out.

  1. Click on Edit, then click on Preferences....
  1. This will bring up the Preferences window.

 

  1. Click on Composition (in the left-hand side of the window).

 

  1. Under Composing Messages, click on Check spelling before sending (a checkmark should appear beside it).

 

  1. Click on the OK button.
