HOW TO USE MAC OS X MAIL (10.2) WITH GUMAIL: IMPORTING A MAILBOX FROM NETSCAPE

  1. Start the Mail program, then Click on File at the top of the screen.
  1. Click on Import Mailboxes... in the menu that comes up.
  1. This will bring up the Import Mailboxes panel.
  1. Click on Netscape (a dot will appear beside it), then Click on the Forward Arrow (>>)button.

 

  1. You will be reminded about where you should look for your mailbox files; Click on the Forward Arrow (>>)button.

  1. Move the horizontal slider all the way to the left, then Click on Macintosh HD in the left-hand window.
  1. Use the vertical slider to find System Folder in the right-hand window, then Click on it. This will open a new panel on the right-hand side.
  1. Keep using the sliders to find and Click on the following folders: Preferences, then Netscape Users, then your profile (probably your name or NetID), then Mail.
  1. When you get to Mail, Click on the Choose button.
  1. Click on the mailboxes you want to import (checkmarks should appear beside them).
  1. A screen will appear telling you that you can find the imported mailboxes in a folder called "import," under your Personal Mailboxes. Click on Forward Arrow (>>)button to finish.
