GUMAIL: How to Choose an E-mail Software Client

Do you need to install an e-mail client? Use WebMail! Remember that GUMail Messenger Express offers a quick and easy way to access your e-mail without any client software - all you need is a web browser and a connection to the internet.

What are the advantages of installing an e-mail software client? A software client provides additional or enhanced features that may not be available with GUMail Messenger Express. Some of the enhanced features are:

Local folders - to store and organize your messages, and manage your e-mail quota

Filtering tools - to help organize your incoming e-mail messages and manage spam

Address books - to help organize and manage your contacts and distribution lists

Spell checkers - to help correct your spelling

Ease of use - to simplify managing your e-mail

Synchronization - to sync your e-mail or contacts with a handheld computer

Which e-mail client is best for me? Use the Recommended E-Mail Clients. UIS provides extended documentation, training, and support for the recommended software clients. Each recommended software client has been tested extensively for compatibility with GUMail. UIS provides limited or no support for the other e-mail clients.
