Network and Computing Systems
Scott Allen leads the Enterprise Network Engineering and Operations group within UIS.
Integrated Network Operations (NCS-INO) provides oversight in the daily operations and engineering required to enhance and maintain the University's enterprise network and telephony systems. The INO team supports wired and wireless networking in all campus buildings and remote sites throughout the DC region and the network services needed to maintain connections to the Internet, Internet2, and regional providers via the Mid-Atlantic Crossroads (MAX). INO also maintains the network services necessary for the University's disaster recovery and business continuity programs.
Facilities Projects Management (NCS-FPM) supports the University's telecommunications infrastructure for 55 buildings on campus and 19 sites throughout the Washington, DC region. The FPM team works with the University Facilities and Student Housing (UFSH) office to develop and maintain standards for communication facilities, power systems and cabling for inter- and intra-building copper and fiber-optic data and voice networks. The FPM team works closely with UFSH on project management and coordination for large-scale University building projects.
