The BSC Mission

The mission of the Business Service Center (BSC) is to provide financial management and administrative support to facilitate and enhance the strategic and operational functions of University Information Services (UIS), while ensuring departmental compliance with University, Local, and Federal policy and procedures.

What Services Does BSC Provide?


  • Administrative Services
    Responsible for all departmental administrative operations with emphasis on Human Resources, payroll, travel, and employee services. This team includes the UIS Receptionist, the initial contact person for all inquires to University Information Services.
  • Billing Services
    Ensure accurate and timely charge back of all charges associated with communication (voice, video, and data) services provided to the GU community. This unit functions as the focal point for resolving all communication billing-related issues.
  • Budget and Finance
    Process all revenues, payments and other financial transactions. Ensure department?s compliance with University, State, and Federal purchasing and general accounting policies and procedures. Also responsible for 5-year forecasting and in-depth financial analysis such as cost allocation and charge back methodology for all departmental operating and multi-million dollar capital budgets.
  • Contract/Office Administration
    Issuance of all aspects of contract (Lease Agreements, Memoranda of Understanding, Site Licenses, Maintenance and Service Agreements) administration through document closeout in accordance with University legal, budgetary, and purchasing policies and procedures. Also responsible for coordinating UIS staff relocations, ensuring that each UIS employee has a comparable working area with the necessary operational data/voice services.
  • Inventory Management
    Verify and track all equipment (voice, video, and data) entering or leaving UIS stockrooms. Responsible for procurement and inventory of all equipment/supplies for the department. Also responsible for tracking all aspects (inspections, University Risk Management compliance, and tag expiration) of departmental vehicles and golf carts.
