GUMail Service Update
Dear faculty and staff,
Working in close collaboration with the GUMail vendor, we have identified an additional temporary solution to avoid the slowness problem recently experienced with GUMail. This slowness occurs when trying to open, move, delete, or save messages that you have received in your account.
The solution we will put in place tomorrow is an additional level of monitoring that will proactively detect when slowness is beginning and automatically reset when it reaches a pre-critical level. The reset will only affect a portion of active e-mail users when it occurs and will not impact delivery of messages to you. When the reset occurs you may be asked to enter your password again or you may receive a warning that your connection to GUMail has been interrupted. The reset will only last a few seconds when it occurs.
We are continuing to monitor the situation in partnership with the GUMail vendor to further improve your GUMail experience.
If you have any questions about this fix or would like to report other problems with GUMail, please call the UIS Help Desk at 202-687-4949 or write them at help @ georgetown.edu.
