HOW TO USE REMOTE ACCESS: CONNECTING TO GUMAIL FROM OFF CAMPUS

You can check your e-mail from off campus using a desktop client (Thunderbird, Outlook, Mac Mail) or with a Web-based client (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari). If you want to use a desktop client, you will have to install it and set it up to use GUMail. If you don't want to set up a desktop client, you can still get your GUMail by using a Web-based client.

  1. Make sure your client is set up to use GUMail.
  1. Connect to the Internet using your service provuder.
  1. Open your e-mail program (client) and start using it (just as you would on campus).

Using a Web-Based Client

  1. Connect to the Internet using your service provider).
  1. Open your Web browser.

Note: You can use Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, or a number of others, but whatever browser you use must support Secure Socket Layers (SSL) and must have Javascript enabled.

  1. Go to the GUWebmail page and log in using your NetID and password.
