Setting up and using GUExpress on Mac OS 9 (or earlier)

Part II: Connecting to Georgetown

If you are not using Mac OS 9 (or earlier), use the buttons on the left to choose the operating system you are using.

Once you have created a dial-up connection and connected to Georgetown, you can Launch Netscape Communicator and use the Internet or access your GUMail account just as you would from your office computer. While using GUExpress, you may sometimes find it convenient to work offline.

Connecting to Georgetown with Mac OS 9 (or earlier)

  1. After following the directions above, Double Click the Macintosh HD icon on your desktop, then Double Click on System Folder. Then Double Click on Control Panels and Double Click on Remote Access.
  1. The Remote Access (Georgetown) control panel should appear.
  1. Click on Connect.
  1. You are now connected to Georgetown University and you're ready to access your GUMail account.
    Note: You can leave the Remote Access (Georgetown) window open while you work on-line. You can use the window to disconnect and reconnect to Georgetown, when necessary. When you have completed your work on-line, Click on Disconnect to end your connection to Georgetown University.
