AirHoya: Connection Problems with MacOS X 10.5 Leopard
If you have a newer Macintosh or have upgraded your Mac to the latest Apple operating system, you may experience problems connecting to the AirHoya wireless network. MacOS X 10.5 "Leopard" does not consistently find and automatically connect to preferred networks like HOYAS that don't broadcast their network name or SSID. This does not appear to a problem with earlier versions of MacOS X.
If you aren't sure what version of MacOS is running on your computer, go to the Apple menu and select "About this Macintosh..."
If you know you are in an AirHoya-covered area of campus and cannot connect automatically, you can quickly kick Leopard into gear by reminding of HOYAS.
- On the menu bar at the top of the screen, click on the AirPort menu icon.
- Select Join Other Network... from the menu.

- In the dialog box, enter HOYAS in the Network Name field. Leave Security set to None. Click the Join button to connect to HOYAS.
