GU Calendar: How to Install the Oracle Sync for Palm software

Step A: Install the Oracle Sync software on your computer

1. Download the Oracle/GU Calendar Sync for Palm for Windows software from the Hoya Computing Software Downloads web page. You must login with your NetID and password for access to this site. You will be prompted for a location to save the file. Your Desktop or My Documents folder are both good choices.

 

2. The downloaded filename is cal_syncpalm_win_90242.exe. Locate this file on your computer after you have downloaded it, and double-click the file to start the install.

3. A new Install Wizard window will appear while the setup files are extracting.

 

4. A new Ready window will appear - click INSTALL to begin the installation.

 

5. A new Welcome window will appear - click NEXT to continue the installation.

 

6. A new Destination window will appear - click NEXT to continue the installation.

 

7. A new Setup Type window will appear - select CUSTOM, then select NEXT.

 

8. A new Custom Setup window will appear - select the drop down arrow next to TO DO LIST CONDUIT, then select THIS FEATURE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE.

 

9. Select the drop down arrow next to ADDRESS CONDUIT, then select THIS FEATURE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE.

 

10. Your screen should appear as below, with red Xs next to the TO DO LIST and ADDRESS conduits. Select NEXT to continue.

 

11. Select FINISH to complete the installation.

 

Congratulations! You have successfully installed the software.

Please continue to Step B to configure the Oracle Calendar software.
