GU Calendar: How to Configure Oracle Sync for Palm

Step B: Configure the Oracle Sync software

After you install the Oracle Sync for Palm software, you must change a few settings to allow your device to login to the GU Calendar to sync your appointments.

1. Open the Oracle Sync for Palm settings manager by selecting START - PROGRAMS - ORACLE CALENDAR SYNC FOR PALM - SETTINGS.

 

2. A new Synchronization Settings menu will appear. Select SETTINGS from the left menu under SIGN IN.

a. Enter your NETID

b. Enter your NETID PASSWORD

c. Enter SERVER = CALENDAR.GEORGETOWN.EDU

d. Enter NODE = MAIN or MED or LAW according to your affiliation

  • MAIN = GU Main Campus
  • MED = GU Medical Center
  • LAW = GU Law

e. Select OK to save these settings

 

3. Select DATE BOOK, then select SETTINGS from the left menu. A new Synchronization Settings menu will appear.

a. Place a check mark next to ADD ATTENDEE NAMES TO NOTES

b. Place a check mark next to ADD ORACLE WEB CONFERENCING INFORMATION TO NOTES

c. UN-Check the box next to SYNCHRONIZE REFUSED EVENTS

d. Place a check mark next to ADD LOCATION TO TITLE

e. Select DATE RANGE from the left menu to continue

 

4. Make sure that DATE RANGE is selected from the left menu. A new Synchronization Settings menu will appear.

a. Use the drop down menus next to FROM to set the date range to ONE MONTH in the past.

b. Use the drop down menus next to TO to set the date range to TWELVE MONTHs in the future.

d. Add a check mark next to DELETE ENTRIES OUTSIDE OF DATE RANGE FROM DEVICE

e. Select OK to complete the setup

 

Congratulations! You have successfully installed and configured the software.

Please sync your Palm to ensure that all of your appointments will transfer properly.
