How to use Oracle Calendar: Signing in

  1. Click on the Start button on your task bar (it's probably at the bottom of your screen).

  1. This will bring up a menu. Click on All Programs; this will bring up a sub-menu.

  1. Click on Oracle Calendar 9.0.4; this will bring up another sub-menu. Click on Oracle Calendar 9.0.4 in this sub-menu.

  1. A Sign-In window will appear.

  1. Click on the down arrow, then click on GUCalendar.

  1. Make sure your name appears beside User Name.

  1. Enter your University NetID password. Then click on the Sign-in button.

  1. You may be asked if you would like to have an off-line agenda. The answer is usually No.*

  1. You will be asked about off-line agenda each time you start Oracle Calendar. If you don't want to be asked about off-line agendas each time you start, see Avoiding Off-line Agenda Pop-ups.

*Off-line agendas are usually only used by people with laptop computers. You can download a copy of your agenda to your laptop, and use this copy even if you are not connected to the University's network. Of course, this is just a copy of your agenda; you can open it, and read it, but you can't use it to make changes to the information in your GUCalendar account (e.g., you can't use it to reply to meetings, or to send out meetings, or to check for new meetings).

Since they are of limited utility, downloading off-line agendas is not generally recommended. The process is time consuming, takes up space on your computer and puts an extra burden on the GUCalendar server.
