How to use Oracle Calendar: Using the In-Tray

What is the purpose of the In-tray? The In-Tray provides a quick view to see all of the changes to your calendar since the last time you logged in. The In-Tray also organizes your appointments by what you have accepted or refused, instead of chronological order. Some people like the In-tray, others never open it.

Using the In-tray

  1. When you open GUCalendar, the first thing you'll see is your In-tray.

  • The In-tray lets you see what new entries have come into your calendar, which entries you've accepted, which entries you've sent out, and which entries you've refused.

  • Click on a folder for a quick update in each of the categories: New, Accepted, Sent, or Refused.

  • You can double-click on any entry to find out more about it.

  • If you want to accept or refuse a new entry, simply click on it and dag it to Entries you've accepted or Entries you've refused

  • Once you have checked your In-tray you can close it (or minimize it) to view your agenda.

Customizing the In-tray

For each of the In-tray categories, you can specify the time period from which you want to see entries.

  1. Click on Tools, located in the toolbar of your agenda. Then click on Options

  1. This will bring up the Options window.

  1. Click on the plus sign (+) beside In-tray, then click on Accepted.

  1. You have two options:
  1. You can select to view a time span starting from today, and continuing for a specified number of days, weeks, months, or years.
  1. You can view all entries dated from today onwards (meaning all upcoming entries).

  1. Click on Sent Out to customize the time period for your Sent entries.

  1. The options are similar to those of the Accepted entries with one exception: you have the option of also viewing past entries that you've sent out.
  1. Click on Refused to customize the time period for entries you've declined.
  1. The options are the same as those offered under Accepted entries.

Turning the In-tray on and off

  1. If you want to use your In-tray, make sure a Green dot appears beside Open In-tray.
