HOME » CALENDARS » HOW TO USE ORACLE CALENDAR How to use Oracle Calendar: What is Oracle Calendar? Background: Georgetown University uses one system to provide our enterprise e-mail service and a separate system to provide the enterprise calendar service. GUMail is the name of our e-mail service, and GUCalendar is the name of our calendar service. GUCalendar allows you to make appointments, schedule meetings, keep daily notes, create tasks with reminders, manage resources (like conference rooms), and post event calendars. How GUCalendar Works: GUCalendar is based on a client-server architecture. In this format, all or most of your data is stored on the server and you use client software to access the data. The Oracle Calendar desktop software allows you to access the data from your computer. The Oracle Calendar for the Web software allows you to access the data from any web-connected computer. Choosing a Calendar Client: There are three ways to connect to GUCalendar.
We recommend that you install and use the Oracle Calendar 9.0 desktop software at the office. When you are traveling or off-campus, you can use the Oracle Calendar for the Web to view and manage your calendar. |
