What is Oracle Calendar Sync for Pocket PC?

Do you wish you could make the entries in your Pocket PC PDA match the entries you make in GUCalendar (without having to enter things twice)? Well, Calendar Sync allows you to synchronize your PDA's date book with your GUCalendar account. This will make the entries in your PDA exactly match the entries in GUCalendar. If you'd like to learn more about Calendar Sync, see the online documentation at Oracle for more details.

  • If you add an entry to GUCalendar, then run Calendar Sync, the entry will appear in your PDA.
  • If you make a change to an entry in GUCalendar, then run Calendar Sync, the entry will be changed in your PDA.
  • If you delete an entry from GUCalendar, then run Calendar Sync, the entry will disappear from your PDA.
  • Likewise, any additions, changes, or deletions made in your PDA will appear in GUCalendar after you run Calendar Sync.

Calendar Sync will let you synchronize your PDA's Date Book and To Do List, but UIS does not recommend synchronizing your Address Book.

Getting Calendar Sync for Pocket PC

Any Georgetown user who is entitled to a GUCalendar account may obtain and use the software.  Download it from the UIS Software Database (the system will prompt you for your NetID and password).  Once you've downloaded the software, Install and configure it on both your PC and on your PDA so it will work with GUCalendar.
