HOW TO USE HUMMINGBIRD HOSTEXPLORER 8.0

Hummingbird HostExplorer is the standard application used across campus to access programs on the university mainframe. If you use SIS+, Genesys, TMS, or FOCUS, it is most likely that you are using Hummingbird HostExplorer to access those programs.

All access to the university mainframe will require a secure connection. This secure connection will be provided by the Secure Sockets Layer protocol. The versions of HostExplorer used on campus that support Secure Sockets Layer protocol is version 8.

The installation instructions are outlined in the grey box on the left. First, determine which version of HostExplorer you are currently using. Second, uninstall your current version using the instructions for your version. Third, determine whether you wish to use web delivered or the full installation of HostExplorer 8.0. Finally, follow the instructions for installing the version of HostExplorer you wish to use.
